Nestled in the New River Valley of Virginia, Radford University (RU) enrolls over 9000 students and offers a vast array of academic opportunities. Recently named one of Princeton Review’s “Best in Southeast”, the University is always looking for ways to connect the dots, mitigate risks and improve efficiencies across campus.

To ensure safety, security and privacy, RU implemented Awareity’s award-winning MOAT (Managed Ongoing Awareness & Trust) to address mounting challenges. MOAT enables all university personnel and third-parties (faculty, employees, supervisors, vendors, contractors, suppliers, etc.) to better understand their roles and responsibilities and comply with new and updated federal/state regulations, like Virginia’s SEC-501. MOAT also delivers specific and situational awareness to improve overall campus preparedness.

MOAT’s award-winning Security Awareness Modules are updated annually with new stories, risks, etc. and educate faculty and staff members on topics like:

  • Cyber Security Risks
  • Viruses, Spyware, Crimeware and Bots
  • Internet Safety (social networking sites)
  • E-mail Security
  • Password Security
  • Information Disposal
  • Mobile devices
  • Identity Theft

All customized training and individual certifications are tracked and documented so Administrators have easy access to on-demand progress reporting and preparedness metrics.  MOAT provides RU with the fastest and easiest way to implement plans, policies and procedures across faculty, staff, third-parties, etc. for:

  • And much more…

Like other colleges and universities, Radford University is experiencing budget cuts and is working hard to reduce costs and leverage limited resources.  By implementing MOAT, RU is significantly reducing administrative and operations costs, as well as expensive training and overtime costs immediately and ongoing.

MOAT is a revolutionary service that is easy to use and requires NO software and NO hardware installation. MOAT delivers real-time accessibility to “tools” from anywhere Internet access is available – at work, home, traveling, and even during emergency situations when clarity and situational awareness is most critical.  MOAT gives RU’s Administration the ability to accurately and efficiently provide situational awareness and eliminate confusion while building trust, ensuring accountability and saving time, money and valuable resources.
