Purdue Considers Installation of CCTV Cameras

Published: February 12, 2006

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Officials at Purdue University may install video surveillance cameras on campus.

If video cameras had been installed earlier, they might have recorded an assault that occurred Feb. 8.

According to police, a male student was struck in the back of the head by a hard object. The victim then fell to the ground and was kicked in the body by two or three attackers. He was taken to an area hospital and released.

A similar attack occurred Jan. 17. A suspect was later arrested for that assault.
