A pro-anorexia (also referred to as pro-ana) group has recently taken root on the popular social networking Web site, Facebook. The Web page, labeled “Ana Boot Camp” encourages supporters to participate in extreme weight-loss practices.

Groups members are asked to vary their daily caloric intake from 500 to zero and report on their progress. Members view the controversial site as a support group, while psychologists worry that the growth of such groups could encourage eating disorders in others.
