UPDATE: Prisoner Who Escaped Houston Hospital Captured

Dacious June Parker fled the University Medical Center Breckenridge when a corrections officer left him alone.

UPDATE: The forensic patient who escaped from the University Medical Center Breckenridge on June 27 was captured July 1 after a brief chase at an apartment complex in Houston.

The Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force swarmed the Timbers of Cranberry apartments at about 5 p.m. that day and apprehended Dacious June Parker, 24, after he attempted to jump over a fence, reports KXAN. They used a Taser on the suspect to successfully apprehend him.

An inmate who escaped from a Texas hospital June 27 is still missing as law enforcement officers across the state continue to search for him.

Dacious June Parker, 24, escaped from the University Medical Center Breckenridge at 3:30 a.m. just after a corrections officer left the room he was staying in, according to kxan.com. A hospital employee told authorities she saw Parker get in an elevator and a surveillance camera saw him running down the street outside the hospital in a hospital gown and blue pants.

Parker had been at the hospital for four days as he was being treated for an undisclosed illness. He was serving a 20 year prison sentence for aggravated assault with a serious bodily injury and police say he is dangerous.

The Travis County Sheriff’s Office refused to say if the corrections officer violated policy by leaving Parker alone in the hospital room.
