Colony High School principal Cyd Duffin has filed a lawsuit against Myspace Inc. after learning of a fake social networking page created in her name. The civil lawsuit also names the unknown creators of the Myspace page that allegedly showed Duffin as a drug-using racist with a sexually transmitted disease who insults disabled students and likes books about pornography, anarchy and the Ku Klux Klan, according to Anchorage Daily News.
The prank page also allegedly made defamatory statements about hearing-impaired students and the racial composition of students at the school.
Duffin’s lawyer has requested the civil lawsuit for defamation and invasion of privacy against Myspace be dropped after the social networking giant agreed to cooperate by turning over records that might show who made the page in Duffin’s name. The identities of the defendants remain unknown.
