Police Search Cornfield For Escaped Forensic Patient
TIPTON, Ind. — Police have been searching a cornfield for a man who allegedly assaulted a jail guard and escaped from Tipton Hospital Thursday morning.
The man had been arrested on suspicion of robbing a pharmacy, the TheIndyChannel.com reports. He was taken to the hospital after his arrest because police suspected he was under the influence of drugs.
Police started searching the field after a sheriff’s deputy spotted the man in a farm area 30 miles north of Indianapolis after he escaped from Tipton Hospital.
