Police Identify Maryland Hospital Stabbing Victim

BETHESDA, Md. — Montgomery County police have identified a hospital employee who was killed in an attack at a medical center on Jan. 1. Roosevelt Brockington Jr., 40, was reportedly found stabbed in a non-patient area of the hospital. Police have yet to identify a suspect.

Despite rescue efforts, Brockington was pronounced dead at the scene, The Washington Examiner reports. He was a lead engineer in the hospital’s Plant Operations Department and was responsible for maintaining the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

Police spokeswoman Lucille Baur told the news source that the police department has no definitive suspects. Each patient, visitor and employee was identified during a lockdown and the hospital is equipped with video surveillance.

The hospital resumed full operations on Jan. 2.
