A 13-year-old student at St. Andrew the Apostle School was arrested March 10 for allegedly plotting to shoot his classmates. Authorities say the boy also attempted to recruit other students to take hostages and participate in the shooting.

According to NBCPhiladelphia.com, police say the eighth grader carried two authentic-looking plastic pellet guns in his backpack. They believe these were the weapons the suspect wanted to use during the shooting.

The boy was turned in by a classmate who alleges the suspect attempted to recruit him.
