EUGENE, ORE.
Published: December 2, 2008

A campus party in Eugene, Ore., ended with four arrests and 47 citations on Nov. 29; however, local residents claim police unreasonably broke through nine doors in the house.

According to The Register-Guard, Eugene police Sgt. Rich Stronach said officers had to break through only one door at the Campbell Club to seize five kegs of beer due to state liquor law violations.

Nearly 30 students and other residents live at the house.

Two house residents, both University of Oregon students, were detained but later released. Both plead not guilty in Eugene Municipal Court on Dec. 1. Charges include furnishing alcohol to minors, noise disturbance and interfering with police.
