EASTON, Pa. – School district officials, the police department and the city of Easton are joining forces in trying to obtain a $600,000 federal grant that would place 20 security cameras throughout Easton’s West Ward.
The cameras would be placed at the former Easton Area Middle School, as it will temporarily house students attending March and Paxinosa elementary schools. The schools are currently going through renovations.
The cameras will capture footage 24 hours a day and will be monitored for several locations. If the grant is approved, it would take four to six months before the cameras are installed.
