CLEVELAND, Ohio – A patient at Kindred Hospital died on Nov. 24 after being assaulted by the man that shared his hospital room. Danny Brown was struck several times in the head with two pieces of medical equipment by convicted felon Rudy Litto.
Brown was confined to his bed after a stroke left him incapacitated and unable to talk, Fox 8 reports. His family is questioning the hospital’s decision to place him in a room with Litto, a felon with a history of violence. They are now considering filing a wrongful death lawsuit.
After the assault, Litto was found hiding in a wall in a section of the hospital that is under construction. Initially, Litto was charged with attempted murder and felonious assault. Since Brown’s death, however, he has been charged with murder.
