UPDATE: 1 Dead in Miami Dade College Parking Garage Collapse

MIAMI — One of the construction workers who was trapped after four floors of a Miami-Dade Community College parking structure collapsed has been reported dead.

Two other workers remain trapped, reports the Associated Press. They were talking to rescue teams on cell phones.

The pancake-type collapse occurred Wednesday on the west campus in Doral just before noon, reports NBC Miami. No students were involved, although several people are injured. Four workers were taken to the hospital and three others were treated at the scene.

The cause of the collapse is being investigated. Classes have been cancelled, and the campus will be closed until Monday.
