Parent ‘Tests’ School Security By Posing as Gunman
CELINA, Texas — Police have arrested a Celina Elementary School student’s father after allegedly telling school staffers that he brought a gun to the building.
On Jan. 9, Ronald Miller told a school greeter that he had a gun, although he was actually unarmed, NBCNews.com reports. Miller then walked into the elementary school an entered the administration office telling workers that he was a shooter. He later revealed that his stunt was to test school safety in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, and that he wanted to speak with the principal.
Staff members did not call police until Miller, who was arrested later in the evening, left the premises. Miller now faces third-degree felony charges of making a terroristic threat. He is being held on $75,000 bond.
