Oregon Mothers Sue School District in Sexual Harassment Case

Published: September 2, 2008

PORTLAND, Ore. – The mothers of two Patton Middle School female students are suing the McMinnville School for failure to protect their daughters in a swatting incident last year.

Initially, three identified boys were charged for swatting at least four of their classmates on their backsides. The sexual harassment charges against two of the boys were dropped after their attorneys reached agreements with some of the girls who were named as victims.

The mothers who are suing said the district did not protect their children from the incident and publicly identified the two girls. They are seeking $125,000 in damages for each girl.

The trial has been scheduled for next year.
