With the rise in popularity of bicycles, comes a greater focus by criminals on bike theft. GPS is one way you can stop them.

The Problem:

  • In 2004, bicycle theft accounted for 3.6 percent of all incidents of larceny (FBI).
  • Only 56 percent of bike thefts are reported to the police (Centre for Problem Oriented Policing).
  • In 2006, the number of incidents of theft-of or theft-from bicycles in the U.S. was approximately 1.3 million – just under 2.5 incidents per minute (National Crime Victim Survey)
