Published: November 2, 2008

ADA, Okla. – Officials at Valley View Regional Hospital announced Oct. 30 that they will be laying off 127 employees, including workers employed in security, human resources, administration and other departments.

On Oct. 28, board members voted to lay off the employees due to a decline in reimbursements from Medicare and other third-party payers.

Employees who are laid off will receive severance payments based on how long they were employed with the hospital, amounting to one week’s pay for each year of service, up to 12 years.
