Ohio State University announced that Monica Moll will be the new director of public safety on campus beginning Oct. 31.
Moll, who currently serves as the police chief at Bowling Green State University, will oversee the university police department, Emergency Management and Fire Prevention, Central Campus Security Services, Communications and Security Technology and Wexner Medical Center security, reports The Lantern.
“Ohio State has an outstanding legacy of protecting and serving the campus community, and I look forward to carrying on the tradition through a combination of police, security, technology and key public safety partnerships,” Moll said in a news release.

Moll spent more than 20 years in campus law enforcement, working at Kent State University before moving to Bowling Green in 2010.
Moll will be taking over for Vernon Baisden, who retired as OSU’s director of public safety in April.
Bowling Green will now begin searching for Moll’s replacement. University officials announced that Captain Mike Campbell will act as interim chief.
“In Monica’s six years with BGSU, she has made a deep and lasting impact,” says vice president for finance and administration at BGSU Sheri Stoll. “Under her leadership, the BGSU Police Department has gained recognition as an outstanding law enforcement organization.”
