COLUMBUS, Ohio − The Adena Regional Medical Center will not lose Medicare payments, according to The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid withdrew its designation that would have led to a loss of federal funds at the medical center starting April 27, The Columbus Dispatch reports. The hospital has improved security staffing and procedures in response to safety concerns.
State health officials inspected the hospital Wednesday. A previous inspection determined that a lack of security allowed an emergency department patient to steal a nurse’s identification card and steal a laptop computer, drugs and supplies.
