Officers Injured After School Police Car Crashes Into Dump Truck

Two Los Angeles School Police Department officers were seriously injured after their patrol vehicle collided with a commercial dump truck near several schools.

LOS ANGELES – Two Los Angeles School Police Department officers were seriously injured Friday after their patrol vehicle collided with a commercial dump truck near several schools.

The officers were responding to an assistance call when the incident occurred shortly after 8 a.m. near Richard E. Byrd Middle School, Francis Polytechnic Senior High and Robert H. Lewis High School, KTLA.com reports.

Initially, the officers were listed in critical condition, but they were later upgraded to stable.

The patrol car sustained major damage to the front end.
