OCOEE, Fla. — A nurse who was fired for allegedly accessing Tiger Woods’ medical records at Health Central Hospital filed a lawsuit against the facility for slander and wrongful termination. David Rothenberg claims that administrators shared his name with Wood’s attorney and a private investigator.

Rothenberg’s login name and password were used to access data linked to Woods’ records after the golfer crashed his car into a tree. Rothenberg said someone else used his login information to view the records, United Press International reports. He also claimed that the hospital was improperly storing sensitive data on insecure computers, thus violating federal medical privacy laws.

A motion to exclude the media from the court proceedings was denied on Wednesday. The hospital sought to seal the lawsuit and exclude the media, saying Wood’s name was not relevant to the case. Rothenberg’s attorney Michael Gort, however, stated that it was, as the golfer’s hospital stay dominated the media for several weeks, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Rothenberg is seeking $400,000 in damages, reinstatement, and a letter from administrators explaining that he was fired based on an accusation made without hard evidence.
