TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — Northeastern State University officials are introducing a smartphone application on campus that allows users to contact campus police in an emergency.
The Personal Guardian application also lets users tell police where they are going and check in once they arrive, NewsOK reports. It cannot be used to track users without their knowledge, according to Patti Buhl, the university’s director of public safety.
The application is being developed for the university by Illume Mobile and will be available to iPhone and Droid users who have university E-mail accounts.
