TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Northeastern State University has banned the Beta Gamma chapter of Alpha Sigma Alpha on its campus for five years as a result of repeated hazing allegations.

The sorority’s national headquarters stated on its Web site that the chapter was closed on June 16 for violating national policy.

NSU has a zero tolerance policy in regard to hazing, Tahlequah Daily Press reports.

Although the chapter has been shut down, NSU encourages alumnae of the sorority to continue gathering at NSU-sponsored alumnae events.
