PALO ALTO, Calif. – A woman who posed as a Stanford freshman was recently discovered after living in a campus residence hall and eating in the dining room for eight months.
Although she had never been admitted to the school, Azia Kim, 18, said she was a human biology major and spent many evenings doing homework.
Kim was able to keep up the front until last week when Stanford officials realized she wasn’t a student. Administrators are trying to determine how she was able to gain access to the dorms, dining halls and school computers, despite Stanford’s security procedures.
In addition to Kim, another woman posing as a physics researcher lived at the school’s physics lab for four years. She was also asked to leave.
