New Jersey District to Reassign Police Officers from Grade Schools

Published: June 1, 2008

BAYONNE, N.J. – In order to increase security throughout the city, police officers at Bayonne’s 11 public grade schools will be relocated. Due to the disruptive behavior at Bayonne High School, at least four officers will still be stationed there.

Officers will be reassigned by September; however, City Business Administrator Peter J. Cresci said police would still conduct drug awareness programs, provide Homeland Security training for school staff and monitor school evacuation procedures.
