CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — As part of its new security plan, Adena Medical Center now requires visitors to sign in upon arrival and receive an identification badge.
Although no specific incident sparked the change, hospital officials said they have been considering the new measures for quite some time, the Chillicothe Gazette reports. Visitors’ badges will now indicate what department they are visiting, making it easier for staff to assist them.
Employees will also be required to wear a badge while inside the building, and some areas that were once open to all staff will be closed off, said Barb Purdom, chief operating officer.
