A shooting in New Jersey sent one student to the hospital and forced the lockdown of two nearby schools as police apprehended the suspect Dec. 8.
Steven Sims, 18, was shot in the leg across the street from William Dickinson High School in Jersey City around 2 p.m. Tuesday. Sims suffered a broken bone but is expected to make a full recovery, reports abc7ny.com.
Police arrested Jefferson Sencion, 18, about an hour after the shooting and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, unlawful possession of a weapon and providing false information, according to the Hudson Reporter.
The two schools were locked down for an hour before releasing students.

Police believe the shooting was related to a brawl that broke out inside William Dickinson about an hour earlier.
In the cell phone footage provided to the Jersey Journal and shown below, at least seven shots can be heard as nearby students run in fear.
