RALEIGH, N.C. — Several female students from North Carolina State University received a suspicious E-mail after a server in the IT department was hacked on June 23.
The E-mail said that the recipient had been recommended for a nanny position for a family’s newborn, the Technician Online reports. The subject line said “NANNY NEEDED FOR RETTA,” and the E-mail came from a common address for administrative mass mailings, [email protected].
Those who did reply to the E-mail provided their personal information. Campus police said there was nothing they could do because there was no money exchange.
