Mother to Sue Ala. District for Not Stopping Bullying
CHILTON COUNTY, Ala. — A mother whose son was beaten unconscious in a bathroom at Lecroy Career Technical Center, plans to sue the Chilton County School System for negligence.
Belinda Hammock claims the attack on her 16-year-old son was the result of bullying. She believes that school officials did not do enough to stop the bullying or properly punish the alleged offenders, FOX6 News reports.
Hammock’s lawyer has sent a letter to district administrators informing them about legal action and asking officials to expel the alleged assailants.
Administrators have 10 days to respond to the letter before Hammock files a lawsuit in federal court.
