Mom Sends Bullied Son to School With Weapons

HARTFORD, Conn. — A mother worried about her child’s safety was arrested for allegedly sending her son to school with a BB gun and a folding knife for protection from bullies.

Sylvia Mojica, 38, was charged with risk of injury to a minor for allowing her 12-year-old son to bring the weapons to Burns Elementary   School, reports WFSB.com. The student brought the items to school in his backpack.

Officials for the district are investigating to determine who bullied the boy. In the meantime, the student faces a 10-day suspension, and the principal is expected to recommend expulsion.
