Molotov Cocktails Discovered in Dorm Stairwell

CATONSVILLE — Campus police at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) discovered two Molotov cocktails in a dormitory stairwell on May 21.

The incendiary devices — each equipped with a wick and filled with a flammable liquid — were discovered by a UMBC employee, the Baltimore Sun reports. They were in an exterior stairwell of a dormitory on the Catonsville campus.

The devices were not ignited. They were picked up by the state fire marshal’s office and removed from campus.
