FLINT, Mich.—Police have arrested a man suspected of stabbing another man near the emergency room at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Authorities say the suspect is connected to a slew of murders in Michigan, Ohio and Virginia.
Hospital officials found the victim, whose name has not been released, lying on the ground outside the emergency room around 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 6, reports ConnectMidMichigan.com. The victim was airlifted to the University of Michigan Medical Center where he is said to be in critical condition.
Elias Abuelazam, 33, is the suspected attacker and was arrested Wednesday at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta as he was boarding a plane headed for Israel. Police say Abuelazam may be a serial killer who had been on a rampage since May. He is suspected of attacking 20 men in Michigan, Ohio and Virginia, killing five.
Meanwhile, the Michigan stabbings caused the University of Michigan, Flint to increase patrols on campus, reports ABC 12. Additionally, an E-mail was sent out to students, faculty and staff with a description of the suspect and telling everyone to be on high alert.
