Lynette Merriman

Lynette Merriman serves as an assistant provost for student affairs at the University of Southern California overseeing the areas of support and advocacy. In this role she coordinates student troubleshooting and crisis support and response efforts in partnership with the Department of Public Safety, Emergency Planning, Student Counseling Services and others. She chairs the Student Concerns Committee and is a member of the University’s Threat Assessment Team. Departments reporting to her include the Center for Women and Men, Disability Services and Programs, three cultural centers, the LGBT Resource Center, Student Judicial Affairs and Community Standards, and Student Support and Advocacy. Lynette is also an assistant professor of clinical education in the Rossier School of Education. She has presented numerous times at national conferences on college crisis management.
Lynette received her bachelor’s degree from USC, a master’s degree in higher education and a doctorate in education from UCLA. Prior to joining Student Affairs she worked in admission and student affairs positions in a number of academic units.
