A high school student in Maryland was stabbed after getting into an altercation with a former student Monday morning.
The victim was walking near Crossland High School with his class to work on a school project when the argument began around 8 a.m. A fight broke out and police say 18-year-old Nathaniel Coates stabbed the student with a knife.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, reports wtop.com.
A security officer at the school arrested Coates and held him in custody until Prince George County police arrived.
Police recovered a knife from the scene and are continuing their investigation.
