In an effort to combat obesity, Massachusetts schools are proposing to record the height and weight measurements for all public school first-, fourth-, seventh-, and 10th-graders to determine whether they are overweight.

The results will be sent to parents along with diet and exercise recommendations, according to the Associated Press.

The proposal is expected to go before the Public Health Council next week.
