Maryville Schools to Implement New Security Measures

Three Maryville elementary schools will undergo security upgrades in order to ensure that visitors sign in at the main offices.

Maryville, Tenn., schools are increasing security measures at three elementary campuses as part of a half million dollar project approved by the Board of Education.

The entrances to Foothills, John Sevier and Sam Houston Elementaries will be redone to ensure that visitors sign in before entering. Construction is slated to start around Memorial Day, WVLT reports.

The project has been underway for three years, with security upgrades at the high schools and middle schools already in place.
