MADISON, Wis. – Police arrested a man Sunday at St. Mary’s Hospital for allegedly threatening to kill security staff at the facility.
The suspect, Bo Penman, 22, came to the hospital with a family member who required medical attention. Around 1 a.m., security personnel escorted Penman out when he began to yell and swear, stating that he was going to “beat up” security officers, nbc15.com reports.
Penman returned to the hospital around 2:20 a.m. This time, he allegedly threatened security again and said he was going to get his shotgun, prompting hospital officials to boost patrols around the facility.
An hour later, police found a suspicious vehicle on a street just outside the hospital. Police identified the car as Penman’s, and said he was carrying shotgun shells in his pockets and a shotgun in the trunk of the vehicle.
Penman faces two counts of disorderly conduct and two counts of trespass to a medical facility.
