Man Tased During Hospital Fight

OAK LAWN, Ill. — A fight at Advocate Christ Medical Center that stemmed from visitors’ refusal to leave a patient’s room resulted in the arrests of two individuals.

A group of roughly 20 visitors came to visit the same patient around 6:27 p.m. on Nov. 17, the Oak Lawn Patch reports. Hospital security officials informed the group several times to limit the number of guests in the patient’s room; however, the visitors became disruptive and refused to leave.

In an attempt to subdue one of the visitors, 22-year-old Derrick Summers, who got into a physical altercation with the security staff, a police officer Tased him. During that tussle, Princess Walters, 21, tried to pull the officer off Summers by scratching the officer’s face and neck. Each were charged with one count of battery.
