Police have charged a man with felony first-degree robbery for a Dec. 9, 2009 incident where he attacked a 75-year-old hospital security officer in the parking lot of the Doctor Center at Flowers Hospital.

During the incident, 33-year-old David Keith Johnson attacked the security officer with what appeared to be a gun, but was really a wrench wrapped in a rag and demanded the security officer’s wallet, the Dothan Eagle reports. The unarmed guard suffered a broken nose, cheek bone and orbital bone; however, the guard’s injuries were not life threatening.

It is unclear what led to Johnson’s arrest, as the assailant was also charged with two other felony counts in different incidents. He is being held on $450,000 bond.
