GREENSBURG, La. – A 32-year-old counselor at St. Helena Central High School was arrested Nov. 3 for simple arson for destroying the school’s main building. Additionally, she is being charged with simple burglary.
Lisa Cryer, and her accomplice who is still at large, allegedly stole $9,000 raised for homecoming celebrations at the high school. In an attempt to cover their tracks, the pair set fire to a building, which housed15-classrooms, administrative offices and a computer lab.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Cryer’s alleged accomplice, Steven Warren. He is being sought for simple arson and simple burglary.
The fire caused an estimated $4 to $5 million in damages.
