“This Thursday, July 26, the Senate Judiciary Committee will consider the most significant legislation ever proposed in Congress for campus public safety. A few of the highlights are:
- Parity in federal death benefits for sworn officers on public and private campuses; and
- Establishment of a National Center for Campus Public Safety, including training funds
- A $50 million matching grant program for institutions of higher education to enhance campus public safety
