LAPD Vet To Lead Nation’s Largest School Police Force

A 31-year-veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department will lead the 340 sworn officers of the Los Angeles School Police Department, which oversees Los Angeles public schools, the Daily Breeze reports.

Prior to accepting the job, Steven K. Zipperman commanded the LAPD’s Southwest Area Community Police Station since February 2009. Before that, he was commanding officer of the West Valley Division.
