L.A. Hospital Workers Ordered to Get Flu Shots

LOS ANGELES — A new mandate requires all healthcare personnel in Los Angeles County to get a flu shot.

The order, issued Oct. 15, requires individuals working in acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and intermediate care facilities to receive an annual vaccination against influenza or wear a protective mask, CBS Los Angeles reports.

The mandate applies to all hospital employees who have direct patient contact or work in patient areas.
