Kansas City Hospital Security Guard Injured in Shootout

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Police are searching for three suspects involved in a hospital shooting.

Two security guards were fired upon early in the morning Feb. 27 at Truman Medical Center. The suspects had been kicked off the premises for causing a disturbance in a patient’s room earlier that night. A while after leaving, the suspects were spotted driving the wrong way down a nearby road and opening fire on the security guards, wounding one in the ankle. The guards then fired back, shattering the back window of the suspects’ vehicle. The car was later found abandoned in the parking lot of a nearby apartment building.

To aid in their investigation, police have released surveillance photos of the suspects taken before they were removed from the hospital.
