Intoxicated Suspects Strike Campus Police Officer With Vehicle

FAIRFAX, Va. — A George Mason University (GMU) police officer fired shots Friday after another officer was struck by a car she was trying to stop.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. in a parking garage on campus. The two officers had arrived at the scene after receiving a call about two intoxicated men heading to the parking garage. After the officers found the men, the suspects ran to a car and sped through the garage, Washington Post reports.

The officer who was struck when trying to stop the car from leaving the garage was not seriously. The second officer fired two gunshots; however, no one was hit.
