DADE CITY, Fla. – Local schools and a school bus garage were forced to go into lockdown after an inmate escaped from Bayfront Health Dade City.

Police initially arrested Juan Gabriel Lopez, 30, on August 27 on a misdemeanor of warrants for failure to pay child support and failure to appear in court on a driving with a suspended license charge. He was taken to the hospital so he could be medically cleared from a previous injury, The Tampa Tribune reports.

On August 28 around 11:30 a.m., Lopez fled the hospital wearing his inmate garb. His escape prompted Pasco High, Pasco Middle, Pasco Elementary and Cox Elementary to lockdown for 10 minutes as a precaution.

Police apprehended Lopez 20 minutes after his escape. He now faces an additional charge of escape.
