MUNCIE, Ind.—An Indiana University freshman died after partying with friends at Ball State University (BSU).
Investigators believe Jarrod Polston, 18, passed out around 3 a.m. on Saturday inside a dorm room at BSU after consuming alcohol and methadone, reports the Boston Herald. The coroner report shows that Polston vomited while unconscious, which blocked his airway.
Others in the room did not know something was wrong with the victim until they woke up. Polston was pronounced dead at 10:49 a.m. at Ball Memorial Hospital.
Authorities are awaiting the results of a toxicology report to indicate how much of each substance was consumed.
