Illinois Schools to Install Cameras Valued at $170,000

BELLEVILLE, Ill. – Belleville schools have been approved to receive new security cameras. The equipment will cost approximately $170,000.

District 118 approved the cameras at its May 20 school board meeting. The cameras will monitor hallways and entrances. In addition, school officials will be able to monitor the cameras through the Internet.

The cameras will be installed during the summer break at schools that either have no security cameras or have cameras that are not working effectively.
