PEORIA, Ill. – A 16-year-old boy was sentenced Feb. 16 to 24 years in prison for the unlawful use and discharge of a weapon at his high school.
Dione Alexander was charged as an adult and found guilty of the shooting Dec. 15.
The incident occurred Jan. 26, 2005 at Woodruff High School when Alexander shot at another student in a crowded hallway. No one was injured.
He will be eligible for parole in 11 years with good behavior.
