At least 12 students were sent to the hospital after their school bus rolled over on an Idaho highway Tuesday afternoon.
All of those students, five of whom were airlifted, have been released from the hospital and are recovering, reports ktvb.com.
There were a total of 39 7th and 8th grade students from the Carey School on the bus when police say driver Richard Mecham drove off the right shoulder of the highway, then overcorrected and rolled the school bus.

The incident occurred around noon as the bus travelled to a track meet. The school discouraged parents from travelling to the scene of the crash, but many still arrived after receiving phone calls from their frightened children.
The Carey School is a K-12 school in a rural farming community about 145 miles east of Boise. The area relies on volunteer emergency responders, who arrived at the scene after receiving a text alert.
The school is part of the Blaine County School District.
The district has placed Mecham, 67, on paid administrative leave as it investigates along with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
Counselors have also been made available for students at the school.
