Gibbs Awarded Medal of Distinction

The Medal of Distinction is awarded to one or more individuals in a given year that distinguishes himself/herself in the performance of duty through an act of personal fortitude that is above and beyond the call of duty. This year, an IAHSS Region 5 Chairperson was recognized with this honor. Managing Director David Gibbs of GuidePost Solutions was cited for his leadership, dedication and passion for the industry.

David has been a strong proponent of the IAHSS by helping to grow the organization’s footprint and improve internal communications as well as outside partnerships. He has started two new Chapters in California, created the first Region 5 newsletter, and took a large role in the successful California symposiums held in Southern and Northwestern California.

He has helped sustain, maintain, and develop the IAHSS across both the region and nation according to colleagues who nominated him. Through his creative leadership, he has formulated programs, ideas and initiatives to benefit all in the association.

Under David’s leadership, the region has turned into a culture of collaboration in which members seek to be volunteer leaders. Says Richard Ward, the director of Healthcare Services, “To describe David’s commitment to the Association, one has to use words such as selfless, giving, relentless, compassionate, forgiving, visi
